Telegram Mini Apps in 2026: what actually works

Stars payments, web push and native SDKs — strengths and gotchas a year into the big update.

Over the last year Telegram Mini Apps moved from «hype experiment» to a real channel for B2C products. A few things we took away from our launches:

Stars changed the rules: the user no longer leaves for an external checkout. Purchase conversion grew 1.5–2× compared to a site-side YooKassa flow — but only if Stars are properly explained to non-Telegram-native audiences.

Web Push inside a Mini App doesn't behave like browser push. iOS vs Android differs and you have to test on real devices.

Deep CRM coupling — the single biggest pain and the biggest win. If the bot is an island, it stagnates. If it lives in the same system as the site and the managers, it's a strong cross-channel.

Downsides: Telegram changes APIs without notice, and Mini Apps need more active maintenance than a plain site. That's fine — just budget it.
